What is Consular Authentication ?

According to the international practice and Chinese consular practice, the purpose of consular authentication is to make the notarial certificate issued by one country recognized by the relevant departments in the territory of another country and have legal effect, so that the legal effect of the document will not be affected by the doubt of the authenticity of the seal and signature on the document.Consular authentication by Chinese embassies and consulates abroad is an activity to confirm the seals and signatures of foreign diplomatic departments or certification bodies on the documents applying for consular authentication. If the documents of various countries are used in China, they need to be certified by the Chinese Embassy of the country where they are located before the relevant departments of China can approve them. This process is consular certification, also known as consular legalization.

Why should we do Consular Authentication service?

China has not yet acceded to the Hague Convention, which cancels the requirement of legalization of foreign official documents. Therefore, any document issued from abroad can not be annotated for use in China. On the contrary, these documents must be legalized according to their purposes.
